Terms of service
The short version: Static is a free hobby project with an attitude. Use it for fun, follow Discord's rules, don't use it to hurt anyone, and don't treat what it says as fact or advice.
Agreeing to these terms
By adding Static to a server, talking to it, messaging it or using its commands, you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. If you don't agree, don't use the bot. If you add it to a server, you agree on behalf of that server and should let its members know it's there.
What it is
Static is an AI chat bot that talks in voice channels and text chats on Discord and on the owner's own Fluxer server. It's run for free by an individual (the "owner", "we") on their own computer. It isn't a business product and has no guaranteed uptime: it can change, be down, or stop running at any time, without notice.
AI-generated content
Everything Static says is written by an AI model. It has a sarcastic, teasing personality, may use strong language, and can be wrong, out of date or say things that are inappropriate or offensive. It is not a person. Don't rely on it for medical, legal, financial, safety or other important decisions, and check anything that matters. Its replies don't represent the views of the owner.
Using it responsibly
You must follow Discord's Terms of Service, Community Guidelines and the rules of the server you're in (on Fluxer, the rules of that server). Don't use Static to:
- harass, threaten, bully or impersonate anyone, or target people for their identity
- create or spread illegal content, including anything that sexualises minors
- spam, flood it with requests, or try to crash, overload or break it
- trick it into revealing other people's information or getting around its limits
- clip or share people's voices when they don't want to be recorded, or save quotes to embarrass or target someone
You're responsible for what you ask it to do and for what you do with its replies and clips.
Your content
You keep the rights to what you say and post. By using the bot you let it process your voice, messages and images to reply to you and run its features, as described in the privacy policy. Clips, quotes and polls you ask for are posted in the server where others can see them.
Ending access
The owner can stop anyone or any server from using Static at any time, for example for breaking these terms.
You can stop using it whenever you like, delete your stored data with /forget, and server admins can
remove it from their server.
No warranty
Static is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or reliability.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the owner isn't liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss or harm that comes from using or not being able to use the bot, from what it says, or from content other users create with it. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
Changes
These terms may change. The new version is posted here with a new effective date, and continuing to use the bot after a change means you accept it.
